Our Ministries

Black Unitarian Universalist Young Adults (BUUYA) across North America gather every first Wednesday to hang out, get to know each other, and thrive in an exclusively Black UU young adult space.

This gathering is the result of three BUUYAs who started meeting in Fall 2020 thanks to YARN. They loved being in a space that is exclusively Unitarian Universalist, young adult, and BLACK! Now all they want to share it with everyone like them, and more attend every month! 

Practically, there will be a chalice lighting, a check in, and participants will spend time discovering what the BUUYA communal needs are. We look forward to seeing you! Please share with Young Adults in your UU circles.

We are a group of privileged UUs working together to dismantle white supremacy and oppression in ourselves and the world around us. We read literature and listen to podcasts together, talk with each other about what we see and what is happening in our own lives, and hold community to support one another.  We meet at 8pm ET on the first Wednesday of every month. In between meetings we talk on our GroupMe chat. Join via the link above.

YARN organizes a monthly worship by and for UU young adults, held on the third Sunday of the month. If you want to be apart of the Worship Planning Team, email rbiggs@uuma.org.

We have a monthly open Small Group Ministry for anyone who is interested. Participants will gather, be split up into small groups, and do a session together, bonding and reflecting on the theme. We also run Small Group programs that meet more frequently, complete the interest form via the link if you want to know more.

We host three monthly calls for leaders to gather, find fellowship, support, and more. Our UUYA Lay Leaders call is for any non-paid young adult leader within the UU movement. Our UU YAM Professionals Call is for anyone who is paid to coordinate a ministry for young adults. Finally, our UUYA Professionals Call is for anyone young adult who does paid work for the UU movement. Details on how to attend each call can be found on our events page.
